Newly established and based on Australia’s holiday mecca, the Gold Coast, Jump On and Stay is a perfect combination of expertise bringing together an innovative new technology that reshapes the consumer booking experience while giving properties room to expand sustainably.
The monopoly of Online Travel Agent giants has forced the consumer to compare accommodation based on rates and commission paid.
Jump On and Stay offers to compare accommodation based on the consumer’s Preferences and Requirements, therefore opening a new choice of destinations and properties to ensure the perfect holiday and avoid disappointment.
Jump on and Stay needed a solution that would compete with booking.com and other online travel agents while being uniquely Australian. Hicaliber had to come up with a point of difference and then develop the solution. The Problem, create an idea and then develop the solution. The client in this scenario was totally reliant on Hicaliber to formulate an industry changing idea and then deliver the solution.
We created a unique way to book accommodation that had not been previously considered. The client approved the proof of concept and we spent 18 months developing the solution. The client has not launched the software officially to the public at this point in time they are simply marketing the concept and building a following.
We utilised several components for the technology stack.
How We Exceeded Expectations
We strongly suggest every client undertake Market Analysis. When you think about a new ground breaking idea and then ask your friends they will all say its a “great idea”. However you need to know if it solves anybody’s problem.
So we assisted the client is crafting a survey and launched the survey to a large sample. The results clearly indicated we should progress to the Software Analysis phase.
At this stage we commence the Briefing process with the client. We obtain all ideas, concepts and look alike ideas. We then create a Scope of Work, Wireframes and Workflows. We then refine this with the client and produce a final functional specification ready for development.
Armed with the functional specification we break down all Use Cases into tasks within our project management system and allocate timelines and resources. We also give the client access so they can clearly see the progress.
User Acceptance Testing
The exciting part is releasing the new software onto the staging server for the client to commence testing. We do this regularly throughout the project to avoid a last minute disappointment. It also gives us the space to pivot and change direction of necessary.
Once all testing is completed we are ready to launch. We then move into a maintenance phase and support our development for a minimum of 30 days and we never charge for any bugs, that’s our fault, we own so we will fix it.
