GJ Gardner has offices throughout Australia, New Zealand and the USA. They have an existing Microsoft .NET solution combining an Intranet and Website in one solution. This has limited the capabilities of the marketing team to leverage new digital marketing techniques.

Project
GJ Gardner required a new website decoupled from the legacy software to allow the marketing team to use the latest marketing technology. We had to develop a web services API around the existing legacy intranet by creating middleware allowing for two way communication between websites and marketing technology and the legacy intranet. It was paramount we captured all leads from websites, social media, live chat and phone enquiries.
Challenges
The legacy database was developed in ASP.NET and MSSQL and had no API. There were 650 databases all performing various tasks. The website was developed in ASP.NET and could not be decoupled or updated easily by the marketing department.
Development
Hicaliber developed a web services API layer around the existing intranet and database. We developed a new “middleware” solution combining various AWS services. We transmitted the data from the legacy intranet to a new Aurora database in AWS. We created new websites for Australia and the United States that were fed by the new database. The websites were developed in WordPress and contained the relevant data required to ensure the site was secure and fast. This complied with the requirements of the digital marketing agency.
Technology
AWS: Serverless, RDS, Lambda, Lex, Connect, Rekognition, Cloudfront, Lightsail, Media Stream and more. We also developed the software in Laravel, PHP and Vue.js. This is hosted on an AWS EC2 instance.
Results
GJ Gardner was ranked outside of the Top 10 home builders websites in 2019 prior to launch of the solution. From 2019 – 2021 GJ Gardner’s website has ranked in the Top 2 or 3 home builders websites. The website has won SEMRush awards for strategy and traffic. It averages 180,000 to 200,000 unique visitors per month. The capture forms on the website manage a lead every two minutes.
